ProudHR Lunch & Learn: Addictions, stigma, and support at work

🕛 12:00–13:00 BST
📍 Online | Free ProudHR Lunch & Learn
🎟️ Open to all - It’s FREE - registration required ( 👉 see below)

Let’s talk about what we rarely say out loud.

Workplace wellbeing is often discussed—but some of the most difficult realities remain hidden. Challenges around alcohol, drugs, gambling, and other behavioural patterns affect many people, yet are still surrounded by stigma and silence.

This ProudHR Lunch & Learn creates space for an honest, inclusive conversation about how these issues show up in the workplace—and what real support can look like.

We’ll be joined by Dr Georges Petitjean, a leading clinical psychologist, to unpack the myths, barriers and truths around these experiences. Together, we’ll explore:

  • The wide range of struggles people may face—from substance use to behavioural compulsions

  • The impact on individuals, teams and workplace culture

  • Why silence and stigma persist—and how to challenge them

  • What inclusive, compassionate support looks like in practice

💬 No questions are off limits.
ProudHR events are judgement-free, inclusive, and built on community. Whether you're personally affected, supporting someone else, or simply want to learn—this session is for you.

About Dr Georges Petitjean
Dr Georges Petitjean is a clinical leader and leadership coach with a rare dual perspective: deep

frontline experience in addiction treatment, and a strong grasp of how senior leaders think, operate

and lead under pressure.

He currently serves as Medical Lead and Clinical Director at Inclusion Drugs and Alcohol Services, part

of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. With over 20 years of experience across residential,

community, private, public and charity-run services, Georges has helped thousands of people access

safe, evidence-based support.

Alongside his clinical work, Georges has coached senior executives across sectors — including leaders

at CliOord Chance, Baker McKenzie, Clyde & Co, Barclays, Hotel Chocolat, DLKW Lowe and The Health

Foundation.

He founded WARM to bring addiction and recovery into the heart of workplace wellbeing. He believes addiction is a health issue -not a moral one- and that organisations must be equipped to respond with compassion, skill and leadership.
